Testimonials

FROM CURRENT EMPLOYEES

I enjoy working for MCSO, I like the administration and my coworkers. I also like the fact that MCSO provides training to help me grow as a person and as a Deputy.

DETENTION DEPUTY

I started my career here at Monroe County Sheriff’s Office about 20 years ago, as a Detention Deputy. I’ve held many roles other than just a Detention Deputy, while working at MCSO, such as an FMJS Inspector, FTO ( Field training officer), Acting supervisor, Programs liaison, Property auditor, and recruiting. Being a detention deputy doesn’t limit you to just a dormitory. There are many departments within BOC to be involved in. Despite the negativity you’ve heard about working in a correctional facility, I am very motivated by MCSO to help transform lives, and most of all the ensure the safety and security behind those walls, for staff, inmates, and visitors. Also, I appreciate MCSO giving me the opportunity to take courses to advance in my career and the opportunity to help new recruit and guide inmates in the right direction.

DETENTION DEPUTY

Being a part of the first-response team by taking 911 calls is such a fulfilling way to serve my community. Knowing I can be the calming voice of help during someone's toughest moments…is highly rewarding.
